Return to Sender

Many people seek comfort in various things in hopes that they will find peace. But contentment cannot be found in the bottom of a bottle, bag, or bowl. Nor can it be found in worldly wealth, entertainment, or self-gratification. Contentment and peace can only come from the One who gives it, Jesus Christ. (John 14:27)

Avoid being part of the hype — bigger houses, finer cars, expensive clothes, elite social groups, or whatever vice you are tempted with. Don’t comprise. Instead, stand firm just as Jesus did in the wilderness when Satan tempted Him in a moment. Satan gave the false promise that he would give Jesus all the kingdoms of this world if Jesus would bow down and worship him. (Luke 4:5-7)

See. Jesus showed us the wiles of the enemy. He also showed us that we don’t have to compromise. We don’t have to be duped. We can return to Satan whatever he places at our doorstep — simply mark it, “Return to Sender.” (Luke 4:8)

Don’t be discouraged even when you’re weak. Call on Jesus, and look to Him for help. Trust your Heavenly Father for everything you need. Serve and worship Him in all that you do. He loves you and will always give you His best. And He will provide you with His peace. (Matthew 6:33-34)

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness and goodness. Help me reject anything the enemy sends my way. Guide and lead me and light my path as I learn of You in Your word. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
