Trust Him

Sometimes it’s hard not to compare our circumstances to others when it seems things are not going our way. But that’s precisely what the devil wants us to do. He wants us to focus on others and our circumstances rather than keeping our eyes on our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Peter gives us an example of how easy it is to be overcome by a stormy situation when we turn our focus away from Jesus. Peter was in despair because of the storm he found himself in the midst of.  As a result, he began to sink because of his fear and his surroundings. (Matthew 14:22-29)

But Peter came to his senses because he knew enough about our Heavenly Father, so he called out to Him for help. And Jesus was right there to guide Peter to safety. He will do the same for you. (Matthew 14:30-32)

You have to ask yourself, how often do I respond like Peter when I face adversity in my life? Do I know enough about Jesus that I call out to Him in my distress? Do I trust the Lord to move on my behalf and work everything out for my good? Do I tend to get in my own way and in God’s way that prevents Him from working everything out?

If you don’t always respond in faith, and you tend to try and figure out and work things out on your own instead of trusting the Lord, ask Him to help you to give it to Him. Get in His word and learn of Him. Ask Jesus to give you revelation about who you are in Him and what He can do through you if you surrender to Him. (Romans 8:37)

Jesus is the author of time. He holds it in His hand. Trust in His timing. Trust in His will and plan for your life. His plans are not to harm you but to prosper you, give you hope and a future. But you must do things His way. You have to call upon Him and pray to Him, seek Him with your whole heart, and He will listen. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Jesus is waiting and willing to come to your rescue. Trust Him!

Prayer: Lord, thank You for your plans for my life. Help me to see Your faithfulness and goodness in all things. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
