A big part of the holidays is spending time with family and friends, sharing and building memories. Many gather around the table to share meals and spend time exchanging gifts. But we must remember that our Savior is truly the reason for the season. (Luke 2)
This is an unusual year due to the pandemic. And many are sheltering in place while others will gather together in small groups, but we can still be joyful. If we keep Jesus at the center of all things, we will have an absolute resolve and peace in Him. He is our Comforter. (John 14:26)
We can cast our cares upon our Savior no matter how small or big our troubles seem. If we’re missing a loved one because they are no longer here or unable to spend time with our loved ones because of the pandemic, we can trust in our Heavenly Father to be all that we need. He will lift our head and soothe our pain. We have to look to Him. (Psalms 121:1-2)
As we move through this season, you don’t have to allow distance to keep you apart from your family. Don’t let the enemy steal your chance to build memories with them. You can plan ahead and leverage the use of technology. Perhaps have a virtual dinner together. Maybe prepare and deliver meals to your family and friends.
No matter how you choose to spend this holiday season, do it with the love of Christ in your heart. Allow Him to lead you through this season with joy in your heart and a smile on your face.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your gracious love. Show me how I can be a blessing to someone this holiday season. Give me an opportunity to share Your Good News with someone. Lead and guide me and keep me and my family and friends safe. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Amen.God does help ease the pain and loneliness. THANK YOU GOD….this too shall pass
