Faith & Hope

When you see someone in need, do you turn your head and look the other way?   Pretend you didn’t see them. Perhaps hoping someone else will help them. Maybe even discounting the fact that we are called to help each other. (Philippians 2:4)

We have to ask ourselves these types of questions and truthfully evaluate ourselves so that our Heavenly Father can help us in the areas that we need growth so that He can use us for His glory in the lives of others.

When we lead with a heart of compassion towards others, it restores their hope and builds up their faith. It also builds up our character in who we are in Christ. Therefore, when we’re called upon, let’s make it a point to serve others with a cheerful heart because we honor our Father in heaven when we do. (Matthew 5:16)

When we understand that we are an extension of Christ, we will serve others cheerfully. We will yield our will and allow Him to work through us to draw others to Himself.

Moreover, we demonstrate our love for God and others. Ultimately understanding that in helping others, we are helping ourselves and building up the kingdom of God. (Romans 12:8)

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your lovingkindness and patience. Teach me how to serve cheerfully in the areas in which You have gifted me. Let everything I do be a reflection of Your character and compassion. In Jesus’ name, amen.
