Choose Life

Our enemy wants to bring about destruction in our life. He wants us to fight him in our own strength because he then knows he has a chance to destroy our lives. His ultimate goal is to rob us of our peace and joy and, if possible, kill us emotionally and spiritually, which will sometimes lead some people to physical death. (John 10:10)

However, Jesus sets before us the way of life and the way of death, but His desire is that we choose life (Jeremiah 21:8-9). Therefore, when things are uncertain and times are tough, we can rely on our Heavenly Father. So we must surrender and depend on His wisdom and strength and not our own. We are to seek Him for His will, and He will lead us along the path that leads to life. 

Are you weak? Are you tired? Well, allow our Heavenly Father to fulfill His promise in your life. He promises us that He will never allow more to come on us than we can bear as long as we rely on Him. He will always show us a way out.  (1 Corinthians 10:13)

God is our strength, and it’s made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). What this means is that when we are void of strength, He will show Himself strong through us. 

Therefore, don’t allow the enemy to make you second guess God’s intentions in your life. Satan is a liar, and the truth is not in him. The enemy is so good at telling lies — he is the master of deception, and it’s how he defeats many (Daniel 8:25). The devil used this very same tactic in the Garden of Eden, which lead to the downfall of humankind (Genesis 3).

Friends, don’t be deceived by the devil’s cunning and subtle ways. Instead, look to Jesus, and choose life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving me a choice to choose life. Open my spiritual eyes so that the enemy will not deceive me. I appreciate Your grace and mercy so that I may live a fulfilling life in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
