One of the most challenging lessons to learn is waiting on the Lord. I know this firsthand. There can be pain in your heart, doubt in your mind, and a thought that God has forgotten about me. You might even wonder, why not me? Why not now?
You’re not alone. There is no man or woman throughout Scripture whom God used in a mighty way who didn’t first face a waiting period. Similar to you and me, they experienced some of the same feelings. King David can testify to that in Psalms 13:1. David was frustrated and heartbroken, but he cried out to God with an honest heart.
So as you go through your waiting period, keep seeking, obeying, and serving Him with a grateful and honest heart. Keep your heart and mind on Him, and trust that your life is safe in His loving and faithful hands. Develop a personal and intimate fellowship with Him, although circumstances don’t seem to be going the way you planned.
And remember that Jesus is faithful, and you have a friend in Him (John 15:14). Be encouraged, although waiting sometimes hurts more deeply than words can be expressed, and be reassured that there’s always hope in Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness. Help me to trust in You. As I draw close to You, show me more of You. Thank You for being my trusted friend. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Amen.
