Open Arms

God’s vantage point is far higher than ours. It has no beginning and has no end. His thoughts are higher than ours, and His ways are far superior to ours. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

So why is it that sometimes we think we know what’s best and reject the wise counsel of our Heavenly Father? Like a child seeking guidance from their parent, they turn around and do what they think is best, only to discover that their parent was right.

And now that they’re knee-deep in the situation, they wished that they had listened. The child realizes that they could have saved themselves from much heartache, undue stress, and the uncertainty of how they will work things out. They either hide in shame and don’t ask for help and suffer in silence, or humble themselves, come back, apologize, and seek help.

We don’t want to be that child that suffers in silence and allow the enemy to keep us in a place longer than we have to be — feeling less than, hopeless and condemned.

See, the longer we go without swallowing our pride and resist help, the more entangled in the web we get. But our Father is patiently waiting for us to return to Him, repent and seek Him for guidance out of our tangled web.

Friends, understand that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). There is no mistake that we’ve made that is too big for God to handle. No matter how far we’ve strayed away from Christ, He’s watching and anticipating our return with open arms — like the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your wise counsel. I acknowledge that Your ways and wisdom are sovereign. Give me insight and foresight regarding my situation, and deliver me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
