A Renewed Mind

God wants to create a clean heart and a loyal spirit in us so that we can reach our full potential in Christ. And this starts with us surrendering our will to our Heavenly Father and through the renewal of our mind. 

As believers in Christ, we are not to conform to the world systems, but live with a renewed mind. We should walk by Christ’s standards. Then through testing, we can discern the will of God, what is right and acceptable, and perfect in His sight. (Romans 12:2)

When we seek God in prayer and ask Him to show us ourselves, the Holy Spirit will shine light in the darkness of our hearts. We then have to make a conscious decision to set aside every weight that easily besets us (Hebrews 12:1). Our acceptance of God’s truth, repentance, and surrendering our will to Him allows Him to transform us into the likeness of His Son.  

God will deliver you by renewing your mind and creating a clean heart and loyal spirit if you allow Him. It could be instantaneously or over a period of time, so have patience and do not get frustrated. Instead, trust in the LORD for His delivering power and His grace. Don’t allow the enemy to condemn you. Jesus will deliver you. 

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your delivering power. Show me the areas in my life that I haven’t surrendered to You. Help me to turn those areas over to You so that my mind might be renewed with Your standards. In Jesus’ name, amen.
