Rest Your Heart

We don’t always understand how God’s working in our lives, but we can trust the plans that He has for us. It’s in His timing that our prayers are answered. It’s His perfect will that governs the path we travel.

In our time of waiting, the road can seem long and difficult. We grow weary, and if we’re not careful, doubt will creep in. And uncertainty can lead us down the path of disobeying God, hurting ourselves and other people.

See, the enemy doesn’t have any new tricks but uses the same old tactics to make us doubt God and doubt His truthfulness. The Lord tells us that His plans are not to harm us but to prosper us and give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

However, the enemy wants us to believe that God is holding out on us. We can trace this back to the garden of Eden. Adam and Eve allowed Satan to cast doubt in their heart. Their doubt took them down a trail that led to disaster, which harmed them and all of humankind all because they doubted God and His faithfulness to provide every good thing. (Genesis 3)

When your journey gets hard, it’s okay to go to our Heavenly Father, knowing that He loves and cares for you. He has promised to go ahead of you and that He will never leave or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8).

If you’re tired and need rest, surrender to God. Don’t doubt Him because it only leads to disaster. Instead, go to Him and lay your burdens down. Then rest your heart on the faithfulness of His word. God is waiting on you so that He can give you rest. (Matthew 11:28-30)

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness. Help me to place my trust in Your word and who You are. Please show me how to release all doubt. Help me in my waiting period so that I choose to obey You so that I have a victorious outcome. In Jesus’ name, amen.

  1. I am thankful, these scriptures are right on time, been in prayer for a stress free home to move into that accepts dogs, and praying for knowledge and understanding and help me to remember the 5 and 10, this is work related. Thank you and God bless!
