When we choose to listen to what people say rather than what God says about a situation, we always end up in trouble. Therefore we have to fill our minds with the truth from God’s Word so that we walk in victory in every area of our life.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. It is useful for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instructs us in righteousness. The word is thoroughly equipped for every good work, making us complete in Christ. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Therefore, we must know intimately what God’s word tells us so that when we’re faced with a difficult situation or something that isn’t true, we’ll know how to respond and be able to discern error from truth.
God’s word illuminates the minds and hearts of those who seek Him and His righteousness. That means our minds are renewed, and we let go of our old preconceived notions, beliefs, opinions, and ideas. Our hearts are cleansed, and we are no longer self-centered but rather Christ-focused.
If you allow it, the word of God will renew your mind, and help you to test and approve what God’s will is for your life, which is pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:2). God’s word will reshape your attitude and character flaws and will readjust your perceptions, faith, judgments, and ideologies to be reflective of His character.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for your word. Help me to let go of what I think I know and replace my knowledge with Your wisdom. Renew my mind and shape me to be more Christ-like so that I know Your will and plans for my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
The Bible that when we accept Christ into our lives, there should be a renewing of our minds. We are a NEW creature. Roman’s 12 and 2 Corinthians 5:17
