Swing Open The Doors

Too often, people act up and act out and blame their actions on others or their circumstances. But remember, people can’t control you, nor can your circumstances control you. Instead, it’s a choice you have to make of how you will respond to what’s going on around you.

We can learn a valuable lesson from the apostle Paul and Silas, who were unjustly jailed, beaten, and bound in chains in the deepest part of the prison (Acts 16:16-26). Despite their external circumstances, they demonstrated their internal joy by praising the Lord. It was then that the doors of the prison flew open, and they were set free.

No matter how difficult the situation is that you may find yourself in and in some cases to no fault of your own, you too can be set free.

Acknowledge God, turn your situation over to Him, praise Him, and place your trust in Him. God is your provision and strength. Your joy comes from God, and praising Him and giving Him thanks is one of the most powerful things you can do as a believer.

If necessary, get your praise on with a loved one or friend because there is strength in numbers. And like the apostle Paul and Silas, before you know it, God will swing open the doors of your situation and set you free as well.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for Your mighty hand. I acknowledge that You have the key that unlocks every situation in my life that has me bound, beaten, and in despair. Lord, I praise You for who You are. Thank You for swinging open the doors of my situation and setting me free. In Jesus’ name, amen.
