It’s during our darkest times that it sometimes seems that our Heavenly Father is far away. It feels as if He’s not listening or, for that matter, moving in our situation. Sometimes it even feels like the walls are closing in around us, and we’re going to be overtaken by our circumstances.
Satan wants us to doubt God and His Word. It’s when we’re down that the devil works overtime to bombard us with his lies. He tries to instill fear and confusion in our hearts and mind. He wants us to keep our focus on every little thing that’s not working so that we miss the very presence of God. That is precisely where the enemy wants us.
But since we already know how the enemy operates. We don’t have to be deceived. We can outwit Satan by choosing to tune him out. Letting go of every thought that’s draining us of our energy and focus. Then turn our sight back to our Heavenly Father and trust Him wholeheartedly. (John 20:27)
It’s while your focus is steadfast on Jesus that He will reveal Himself letting you know that He’s right there in the midst of your situation. The same as He did for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were in the midst of a fiery crisis that was unusually hot, but they stood their ground. They chose to trust in who God said He was and what He can do. (Daniel 3:8-20)
Don’t just learn about Jesus, but get to know Him personally. He’s waiting. He wants a relationship with you.
My friend, you have to abide in our Heavenly Father and His Word, and He will abide in you. As you abide in the Father, you will see your prayers answered. You will discover that you can do anything. You’ll find that you can overcome every hurdle. But best of all, you will experience the very presence of God in your life.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your goodness. Show me how to abide in You so that You abide in me. Manifest Your glorious presence in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
