One question we should routinely ask ourselves is where’s our heart with God. In other words, are we living to serve Christ, or are we living to serve ourselves? If we’re honest in our answer, we realize that it’s a constant battle between our spirit and carnal mind (Romans 7:14-23).
Acknowledging that our carnal mind is at war with our inner spirit and surrendering our will to our Lord and Savior, we can be victorious over sin through Him (Romans 8:1-11). We have let go of what we think. How we feel must be checked at the door. Then we have to grab hold of the truth of our Heavenly Father’s word.
When we use God’s word as our conscience, we set ourselves up for success. And although we face adversity from time to time, we can draw close to Him trusting that He will bring us through. Because the Holy Spirit that indwells us when we accept Him as Lord of our lives will teach and guide us. (John 14:26)
Are you struggling to live a life surrendered to Jesus? If you answered no, glory to God! If, on the other hand, you answered yes, give it all to Him. There is nothing new under the sun. There’s nothing too terrible that you can’t surrender it to Him. He’s seen and heard it all before. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
Jesus loves you. He gave His life for you. Don’t allow the enemy to trick you out of your birthright. You are loved by Him that gave His life for you. When you trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, you are forgiven and shall be saved. Trust Him. There’s victory in Him. (John 3:16-18)
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your sacrifice and plan of salvation. Show me any area of my life that I need to surrender to You. Then help me to overcome it and walk in Your way. In Jesus’ name, amen.
