Hope And Confidence

Have you ever gone through a period where nothing ever seemed to go your way? Maybe a tough day on the job or at home, or perhaps you’ve found yourself in a difficult situation through no fault of your own. You feel like throwing in the towel and giving up.

During periods like these, we have to be especially careful. We have to be on guard and watch and pray. Otherwise, the enemy will creep in and try to take advantage of our vulnerable state of mind by whispering lies — you deserve what you’re going through, Jesus doesn’t love you, you’re unworthy of victory, and any other untruth he can utter. Satan wants us to believe him so that he can derail us and get us off track. (Matthew 26:41)

However, we don’t have to listen to what the devil has to say. We can tune him out and put him out of mind by speaking God’s truth. We can guard our minds and rest in peace by knowing who we are in Christ Jesus. And by accepting the fact that nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39).

The Lord will move every stumbling block out of our path if we place our complete trust in Him and make Him our hope and confidence (Jeremiah 17:7).

If you haven’t already done so, trust in the Lord with your whole heart and watch Him move on your behalf and make everything alright in your world so that you know that He’s Almighty God (Isaiah 45:2).

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being the true and living God that makes every path straight. Help me to trust in You in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
