It’s easy to beat ourselves up about our wrong decisions, but it’s not going to help us move forward. God’s not holding anything against us. So we don’t have to hold anything against ourselves.
When we mess up, the enemy is standing on ready to condemn us. He wants to make us feel that we’ve messed up too bad for our Heavenly Father to forgive us. But that’s simply not true! Satan is a liar, and the truth is not in him (John 8:44).
God is rich in mercy and loves us greatly (Ephesians 2:4). So when we don’t get it right, we can go to Him and ask for forgiveness and His help. He’s willing to give us another chance and show us how to get back on track. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We can have an assurance of who we are in Christ.
When the devil rears his ugly head, sounding like a broken record by repeating over and over your wrong choices, speak God’s truth that you are forgiven. Choose today to put the enemy out of your thought life and move forward in Christ.
Our God is faithful, and a God of mercy (Lamentations 3:22-23). Believe that you are forgiven and trust Him to turn things around for you.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your faithful love and mercy. Help me to tune out the voice of the enemy and trust in Your faithfulness. Help me to see that when I repent, I am forgiven. In Jesus’ name, amen.
