Sometimes when things get tough, many people feel God has forsaken them, and doubt His love for them. And too often they pull away from Him and start to lean on their own understanding and trust in worldly vices. Then soon find out that what they turned to ends in disaster and disappointment.
It’s true. No one wants heartache, but there are going to be times that we don’t get what we ask for, but we can trust and believe in the goodness of the Lord. Our hope must be anchored in His character. And we must know in our heart that He will never leave or forsake us (Joshua 1:5). He has promised that He is close to the brokenhearted and will restore those crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18).
Yes, some of the things we face are painful beyond words, and it brings us to our knees, a place of surrender. But the sooner we accept that life is going to throw us some curveballs and that adversity is inevitable, the sooner we can start to lean on our Heavenly Father and trust in His faithfulness because great is His faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:23)
Are you facing heartache and pain? Uncertainty and you doubt whether or not Jesus loves you? Are you at a crossroads of choosing world vices over Christ?
Stop! Take a deep breath. Choose to trust and take our Heavenly Father at His word. And although He did not respond the way you thought He should or based on your timeline, trust that He knows best because His wisdom is infallible. His vantage point is far higher than meets the human eye. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
Be encouraged. Don’t give up on God. He hasn’t given up on you.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your infallible and holy wisdom. Lead and guide me. Fix all disappointments and broken cracks in my heart. Heal and restore me. I trust in Your plans, and I won’t give up on You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
