God is merciful and loves us greatly. So no matter our past mistakes, He’s willing to forgive us and extend His grace and mercy in our circumstances. Our Heavenly Father is more than willing to give us another chance and help us get back on track. He’s a God of another chance. (Ephesians 2:4)
Sure. It’s easy to beat ourselves up, and get stuck in a rut. A place of self doubt and if we’re honest sometimes a place where we don’t like ourselves very much. Moreover, we allow the enemy to disturb our emotional peace and drain us of our self-worth. It seems that we can’t move forward because our past mistakes hold us in a holding pattern pondering the what-ifs and could have been scenarios.
But we have to realize that God does not hold anything against us, so we shouldn’t hold it against ourselves. Remember, Jesus came so that we may have life more abundantly because He’s our good shepherd (John 10:10).
Beating ourselves up will not change anything; it only hinders our progress and holds us back from receiving what God has for us. We can’t rewrite our past. We can only move forward — repent, accept our Father’s forgiveness, and then forgive ourselves.
Remember, Jesus loves you deeply. He wants the best for you, and He’s a God of another chance.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your grace and mercy that’s renewed every day. Please help me to release anything that I’m holding against myself. Show me how to move forward in You and accept Your forgiveness and love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
