Life is unpredictable because we can never foresee the troubles we may face. But we can hold on to God’s promises, and rely on His faithfulness. We can be ready for whatever comes our way and be strengthened in our weakness because His spirit lives in us, and His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Therefore when adversity shows up at your doorstep, don’t minimize it, but don’t let it overwhelm you. Put it in its rightful place — second to the power of God. Don’t let the situation be all you think about. Instead, elevate the word of our Heavenly Father and His faithfulness.
Remember, God is bigger, and He has no equals. He’s more praiseworthy than any circumstance or situation we face. He deserves to be at the center of everything we do or think about. For this reason, we can’t allow our circumstances to overshadow God.
Instead, we have to continually remind ourselves what God’s word says about a situation, and that He loves and cares for us deeply. He is faithful and just to perform (Jeremiah 1:12). God will work everything out for our good. Lift Him up, and trust in His faithfulness.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for Your faithfulness. Help me to see the promises in Your word. And in my weakness, show me Your strength. In Jesus’ name, amen.
