Secrets Of The Heart

Our heart dictates everything we do. How we live, relate to others, and serve one another. The secrets of our hearts won’t remain a secret forever because, at some point, the secrets we hold within our hearts will manifest themselves and find their way into our relationships at home, work, and church. (Proverbs 4:23)

What we say, our actions and deeds all flow from our hearts (Luke 6:45). So, we have to examine ourselves and ask, “what’s flowing from my heart?” Unforgiveness. Bitterness. Lovelessness. Malice. Impure thoughts. Hate. Racism. Pride. Jealousy. Animosity…..

No matter what it is, if there is anything that flows from the abundance of our heart that doesn’t reflect our Heavenly Father, we must surrender it to Him. If we allow Him, He will create within us a clean heart and right spirit (Psalms 51:10).

God will purify our hearts and replace rotten fruits with His good fruits that will transform us into the likeness of Jesus Christ — love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

We have victory in Christ, and when we allow Him to lead and cleanse us of the secrets of our hearts, we will find peace and fulfillment. And His fruits will overflow into our homes, workplaces, and our churches. We will be bound in perfect harmony, as love and forgiveness flow from our hearts (Colossians 3:12-17).

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your word that leads to victory. Show me any ungodly secrets in my heart. Show me how to release those things from my heart. And fill my heart with Your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Allow Your fruits to overflow in all of my relationships at home, work, and church. In Jesus’ name, amen.
