Fear is an internal feeling that we get that’s created by an external circumstance we experience. And if our fear is not dealt with head-on, it can cause worry to set in, and worrying becomes a way of life.
We have to let go of fear and worry, and trust our Father and know that fear is not from Him. God wants more for us than a worry-filled life. Because when we live and make decisions based out of fear, it can lead us down the wrong path. Therefore, it is in our best interest that we operate based on what God has said about us rather than how we feel. It’s then that we will experience His power, love, and sound judgment in our lives (2 Timothy 1:7).
How has fear driven you? What do you allow to worry you? How has it impacted your decisions? Perhaps, it’s the loss of a job or loved one, a wayward child, a health crisis, a loved one who’s suffering from addiction, or an argumentative and critical spouse. Whatever your circumstance, know in your heart that God is more than able to fix your situation. You shall overcome.
Surrender everything that weighs you down to our loving Heavenly Father. Give Him thanks for all that He has done and what He’s going to do. Tell others of His graciousness. Don’t worry, but pray about everything and let God know what it is you need. And remember that the Lord is near. When you do it His way, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:5-7)
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your graciousness and perfect love. Help me to let go of my fear and worry. Reassure me that I shall overcome. Allow me to live in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for guarding my heart and mind. In Jesus’ name, amen.
