His Perfect Timing

Waiting can be a daunting task. Especially since we have become accustomed to a microwave culture where we can get things quickly and there is no real waiting period.

Unfortunately, the tone that has been set for our culture of getting things faster and having it our way; we have put God on a microwave timetable, and we measure His performance by world standards. Consequently, when we have prayed for something, for what seems like a long period of time it frustrates us, and we sometimes get mad at God because He isn’t moving fast enough. But take a step back and trust God. Trust in His timing. Wait and commit your way unto the Lord, trust in Him, and He shall bring it to pass (Psalm 37:5).

When you delight yourself in the LORD, He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). The Lord will place in your heart what you need. You might even be surprised that what you thought you needed is no longer something you desire.

God is righteous and holy, so what He gives and what He places within our heart is always in line with His character. When we bind our will to God’s will and have confidence in Him that He will deliver on what He has promised us, everything will fall into place. We simply have to have patience and faith, endure and have fortitude, that God is working on our behalf in His perfect timing. 

God is a good God for those that have faith in Him, and He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). 

Prayer: Lord thank You for Your righteousness and faithfulness. Help me to have a patient resolve in Your abilities and timing. Keep my heart turned towards You and Your will for my life. Show me how to rest in Your peace as I wait for Your promises to be fulfilled in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
