Sheep and Wolves

Friends come in two forms – sheep and wolves. We see in the life of Jesus that both walked among Him. His good friends supported His mission and life purpose whereas that one wolf, Judas, betrayed Him.

Jesus showed us that we can discern those among us and even call them out when they don’t have the best intentions (Luke 22). That is why it is important for us to lean on the Holy Spirit to give us foresight and insight into all our relationships.

When we seek the Lord in prayer about our relationships, He will reveal to us the motives of those that sit among us. The question we must ask ourselves is will we listen and be obedient to our Heavenly Father’s leading. Think about that for a moment.

We have a friend in Jesus, and He has our best interest at heart (John 15:13). God knows the plans that He has for us, He has thoughts of peace, and not evil to give us an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). If He is leading you to let go of some of your relationships, you must let them go to prevent yourself heartache and destruction, and in some cases death whether emotionally or physically.

Our Father is faithful. He is our good friend. He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). God loves us beyond anything we can imagine or think. He will lead us into all that is good if we follow.

Prayer: Jesus thank You for being the perfect example of being a good friend. Lord show me what I need to see in all my relationships. Give me the courage to walk in obedience to Your leading. Lord show me if there is anything that I need to correct within myself where I am called friend and help me to improve in the areas that you show me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
