Do you ever feel defeated? Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a rut and can’t move forward? Is your spouse acting up? Is your child on a destructive path? Do you ever feel that you want to throw in the towel? Just throw up your hands and give up?
Well, be reassured that if you trust in the LORD – – our LORD is with you through every circumstance. Reflect over difficult times that you have gone through in the past. The Lord always came through. You have to get this down in what I call your “knower.” It’s that place in your heart that you know that you know that the LORD is your salvation.
We have to change our “stinking” thinking in times that we are down. In times when things seem a little shaky or even a lot shaky, we have to shift our focus to the things the Lord has brought us through. In dark times we are to shift our focus to things that are of a good report, lovely, pure, and things of virtue (Phil 4:7-8 NIV).
The bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 to never give up because our spirits are renewed every day. Our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Instead they will produce vast glory. So don’t look at the troubles we can see now. Instead fix our eyes on things that cannot be seen. For the things we face now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
Prayer: Lord thank you for a renewed outlook and strength in You. Lord be my guide through these uncertain times. Lord give me the peace and joy I need to carry on. In Jesus’ name, amen.
